Emergency Management

We stand ready with Cranes and Crew on call to respond rapidly to an emergency. We have dealt with vehicles falling into sinkholes and through parking decks, collapsed buildings, and trees falling into houses. When disaster strikes, we are willing to step up to help those affected get back to their lives, we have sent our equipment to areas struck by hurricanes to help residents and businesses restore their buildings and homes.

Downtown Sinkhole Bus incident

A sinkhole formed at 8am, swallowing a bus, luckily there were no injuries. Immediately, our crew mobilized, and had the bus removed that same day without damaging the bus.
Harmar Twp Train Derailment

17 train cars and two engines were derialed in Harmar Township. Allegheny Crane was called in to rerail cars and secure the cars onto land that were leaking.
Fern Hollow Bridge Collapse

The Fern Hollow Bridge collapsed on January 28th, 2022, taking a PAT bus and four passenger vehicles 100 feet into the Frick Park ravine below.
Delta Air Lines

A Delta Air Lines flight slid off a taxiway at Pittsburgh International Airport Wednesday evening. Our 400 ton crane brought the plane back to the runway safely.
Butler Plane Accident

A small plane, namely a Cessna 340, suffered an unfortunate landing accident. The only person in the plane was the pilot who was thankfully uninjured. The plane, however, had received enough damage to immobilize it. A crane was needed to move the plane to a safe location. The Butler Airport came to Allegheny Crane for the job. Using the 275 Grove crane, the crane operator, and Kyrk himself, safely lifted the plane back onto the runway.

Slew of Storms in Pittsburgh

With an onslaught of storms overnight wreaking havoc on the Pittsburgh area, the team was called with urgency to assess this building’s situation and quick remediation. Upon speedy arrival, the team got to work removing panels and making repairs on the building which housed refrigerated goods.
Emergency Building Collapse

When a structure collapsed, and turned into an emergency situation, the teams at Allegheny Crane Rental and KP Builders knew what to do. The teams, lead by Kyrk Pyros, joined forces with the PA Urban Search and Rescue – Strike Team 1 to rescue those trapped, and begin the emergency demolition process.
Freight Train Derailment

Following a freight train train derailment near Station Square, Allegheny Crane Rental was called in to help clear the wreckage. Pooling our resources with the Pittsburgh Port Authority and Norfolk Southern, the wreckage was cleared in just a few days.
