Pre-Drive Inspection
Secure/Understand - Job Slip, JSA slip, Lift Plan
Secure/ Understand - Directions to the Job and Job Contact
Secure all rigging for the job as dictated by JSA/ lift plan/ Kyrk
Secure Fuel Card, PPE, Job-Specific Tools
Perform/Document DOT DRIVER’S VEHICLE INSPECTION REPORT found in the safety kit
Complete DAILY INSPECTION LOG found in paperwork or the black binder
Secure phone, fob, and GPS
Check Fuel/Fuel Up

Site Setup Inspection
Measure the load from the center pin
Consult charts for appropriate limits
Meet with the Contractor for specific instructions
Inspect load - look for pick points
Access rigging (Shackles, straps, bar, etc.)
Review JSA / or lift plan
Position the crane for optimal CHART-Boom length effects of strength, the longer the less the structural limits

Site Inspection Walk Around
Get the ticket signed to be on the premises
Don PPE: hard hat, safety glasses, High VIS Vest or shirt, Steel Toes, (if needed) FR gear, and/or Personal Gas Monitors
Ground Condition and Slope
Underground Condition (Vaults, manholes, etc.)
Weather Conditions - Stop Work at 25 mph or 15 mph if trees or reference move. Example: tree moves at 15 mph and folds at 25 mph
Overhead Obstacles - Maintain a minimum of 20 feet of power lines
Ground Obstacles - 2:1 distance away

Crane Inspection
Perform a Checklist for the Specific Crane
Wire Rope
Sheave and Block
All Visible Moving Parts
All Hydraulic Lines and Connections
Turn on the Computer and Access Operation
Program the Computer for the needed Configuration
Turn on Upper Motor and Access Operation
Sign Daily Crane Log
Operations Check List

Pre Lift
Clean Windows
Check Two Block for Operation
Set Pads and Level Crane, Document type of pads or cribbing used
Operate Crane Boom in All Directions
Rotate Boom 260 Around Center Pin
Stop Work and have JSA Meeting with Customer’s Workers and Riggers/Oilers
Fill out JSA
Setup Caution Tape around Perimeter

During Lift
Grease the Front and Rear Drive shafts on the Links during downtime when the crane is not running
Make Journal Entries on all tracks of the day and details of any incidents
Excerise Stop Work Authority and Follow Check List
Protect your workspace under the load

Post Lift
Get final ticket signed. Tie in Travel Time
Check for “Bird Nesting” Cable
Account for all pins, secure cribbing and mats (double strap)
Account for all rigging
Secure outriggers
Secure ball/block
Regenerate when lights or every 4 hours of running
Fuel Crane
Clean Crane
Turn in Paperwork

REGENERATION
REGENERATE EVERY 4 RUNNING HOURS
REGENERATE FROM DRIVERS CAB
Turn on 4-Way Flashers
Release Throttle
Release Clutch
Release Service Brake
Place Automatic Transmission in “Neutral”
Set Parking Brake
Hold DPF Switch until throttle is picked up by REGEN system (Approx 1450 rpm)
Check Ideal in Approx 20 min. (returns to normal when REGEN is finished)
DPF light will go out
If “ RED ENGINE LIGHT” comes on - SECURE CRANE AND REGENERATE IMMEDIATELY
Trouble Shooting Check List

Boom Configuration Problem
Place Boom at 70 Degrees
Completely Retract Boom
Reconfigure Boom
DO NOT HALF SCOPE ANY CONFIGURATION

Pinning the Boom
Clean Proximity Switch
Cable down as you boom out at 70 degrees
If trouble-put boom at 73 degrees and turn on and turn off 3 times
On 90 ton Linkbelts - lock boom - in front of wnech, on top of boom, remove plate (remove 8 screws) CHECK LIGHTS ON PRXIMITY SWITCHES, CLEAN SWITCH

Counterweight Issues
When in right position but will not read correctly : Clean or adjust proximity switch
90 ton Linkbelts (Will not twist and lock) - Twist Motor Lock

Electrical and Computer Issues
Check Fuses
Turn off Upper Power in conjunction with turning off MASTER 3 times. Wait a minute between each turn off
Switch off Battery Cables or remove Battery Cables and wait 5 minutes

Calling for Assistance
Review the last 5 things you did and work backwards to problem solve
Attempt all of the above
Write those things down, so they may be referred to by you or the mechanic or Kyrk

GROVE 275 ISSUES
Turn on Battery Key
Turn IGNITION KEY ON and allow the computer to run through its checklist before starting
Check the computer screen to see if the crane islevel and the off-road key is out and the suspension is unlocked if driving
Before crane is operated; the off-road key should be in and the suspension locked
Outriggers can only be operated when the LOWER IS RUNNING
